Obituary of Danny Lastra

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Daniel Lastra at the age of 43. Danny passed away suddenly in his home in Union, New Jersey on October 5, 2023.

Danny was born full of life, a beautiful blonde boy who stole many hearts. He grew to be caring, sweet, charismatic, and funny —a true ladies' man and avid gym-goer, always seeking new adventures. He enjoyed the companionship of his dog Aja, collecting coins, watching true crime documentaries and playing Rummikub with his family. 

Danny had an infectious laugh that was guaranteed to brighten your day. Above all, it was Danny’s heart of gold that will never be forgotten.

While his cause of death is yet to be determined, Danny suffered from the disease of addiction for many years. Despite his courageous efforts to regain control, the darkness was far greater. We can all take comfort in knowing that Danny is surrounded by light, away from the struggle that haunted him. We would have given anything for him to experience that freedom in this lifetime. Our grief will be infinite.

Danny is survived by his father Daniel Lastra, mother Jacinta Lastra, sister Vanessa Imme, brother-in-law Matthew Imme, niece/goddaughter Adrianna Imme, nephew Mateo Imme, fiancée Suze Nobre and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the US and Spain. 

May your spirit soar, Danny, as you find the peace that eluded you on earth. Descansa en paz. You will forever live on in our hearts. 

Visitation: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph.

Funeral Mass: 9:30 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2023 at St. Mary's Church, Wharton.

Entombment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
