Humorously, I first met Phil when he was my student teacher at Morris Knolls HS! Years later, we connected because Phil was friends with the sister of one of my best friends.
Over the next 30+ years, that led to many nights out with friends, taking watercolor lessons together, running into each other on LBI, and several real estate transactions.
I’ve seen many comments on how Phil was always kind, and he truly was to both people and animals; but he also had a wit that was funny & often had just the right touch of sarcasm. He’d say something & giggle and everyone would soon be laughing out loud with him.
I knew I could always rely on him for straightforward, honest advice, whether it be personal or business-related. Since I moved out of state years ago, we hadn’t seen each other in person as much, but a phone call would result in us picking up where we had left off.
Rest in Peace my friend. Save a giggle and a good joke to share with me, for some day we will meet again.

Tom and I have known and loved Phil since he became our real estate relocation realtor in 1996. We recently sold, Phil was the realtor for both sides of the transaction- which delighted us. I remember giving him a big Hug, which I told him would last longer than a usual hug. I then told him, he was welcome, anytime to our new home, and I also made it clear that he MUST visit us when the pool was in. Now, with great sadness, we can only remember Phil as the beautiful, smart, human that he was. Get your wings and fly friend. we will look for you in signs. with much love and sadness, Michele and Thomas Vairo

So sorry for your loss. Phil was a fabulous guy. Met him at the Shores for many trips we made there. We called ourselves the Chillers and it was an annual event. We were in our wild and crazy 20’s. Nardies party bar, playing cards, clammies and beach time. Phil had an infectious laugh, honest and always fun to be around. Remember Phil & those days fondly. REST IN PEACE CHILLER. Until we meet again.
Friends and family joy and peace in your memories.

My condolences on this sudden loss of Phil. I only knew him because he was a student teacher during my senior year at Dover High School, the 1978-79 school year. He was a cool guy and all the kids liked him. We used to see him and talk with him when he worked up at the tuxedo place inside the Rockaway Mall too by the inner 6 theaters. RIP Phil. Prayers to the family members.

Worked with Phil for several years-very industrious and devoted to his clients. Loved by everyone that met him. Generous and kind are the two words I most associate with Phil. Always friendly and smiling making the best of every day. Fortunately had dinner with him and some friends not too long ago so have one last memory of what a wonderful soul. Phil I owe you sushi and will make good on my promise when I cross over. You were called Home early to do God's work making others happy and helping others. Madison is happy to be with you!

Philip you are already missed in my life. Since I am in Arizona it’s a little difficult to just drop in. Each time we were in Jersey we did just drop in. It was always great seeing you. This wait is a little different. Give hugs to all there and will drop in one day.
Love,
RoseMarie

who we are:
Tuttle Funeral home was designed as a funeral home by funeral home architects and designers. Unllike many funeral homes that were originally old homes and then were converted into funeral homes.
Though it was designed as a funeral home, it still provides the warm comforting feeling of a home, but with more space and an open feeling.
