Ed worked on my film faded dreams (foul shot) and did a terrific job as character Bob Hanks. He came off as a very nice fellow! RIP, Brother! Rest in Paradise!

I worked with Ed Dyer for many years with Cal/OSHA. He was one of the best investigators within our unit. We teamed up several times to help each other out on special assignments. He was funny and made me laugh. We shared the same interest in theatre. I told Ed that I was proud of him for pursuing his dream and was very good. I will miss Ed very much, especially his smile and accent. RIP my friend. Know that you are loved and will be sorely missed by those whose life you have touched along the way.

I can’t imagine my life without Ed’s shining face, intentional words, humble nature, brave talent, and sweetest heart. I love his authentic original constitutional simple soul.
He was a friend so good - you just felt like you didn’t deserve it. There was no catch with Ed.
The world seems so much sadder now without him appreciating it. Marveling at it. Sharing the good of it. It’s just not right.
Helga, thank you for all your tenderness and strength for Ed. (And comfort to me).
There is a permanent hole in my heart.

Dear Helga, Jeff, Val and Carl,
I will miss Ed dearly, he was a very good man and a dear friend, the world needs more like him. In reflecting over our lifelong friendship, I guess that it is fitting that I was able to spend time with him on the Cape a few months ago as it was on the Cape that we first met while in our teens. Ed’s friendship and that of your family has brought joy to my life, so many great memories. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Mike

Ed you were are beautiful and top notch human being! We will miss you.
One evening last December, while I was performing in a show across town in Los Angeles and with one opportune glance out to the audience mid-show I think to myself, "is that Ed in the audience, nah can't be?" After the show I rolled out to lobby to see if it was Ed just in case. And sure enough I had the loveliest catch up with Ed that night! He mentioned he had done this exact show years ago but added, "yeah, I played a sheep in it." (everyone can hear Ed's voice saying it). Ed - you lovely man, you were such much more than a sheep, but perhaps a truly unique, one-of-a-kind GOAT! I will remember your kindness fondly, your bright smile, our chats about surfing, our shared experiences in the theatre, and how you will always inspire me to live with so much more generosity. We love you Ed. And we will miss you, our gentle friend.

Ed was in two films that I produced. We chose him immediately when he auditioned for the film, Control Tower. We felt that he could play any role in both films and we gave him the most challenging roles. His acting talent was off of the chart and he was the most pleasant and interesting person to work with. I am so sorry that this beautiful person has left us too early.

I met Ed at our local Acting Workshop and was instantly impressed with his work, his whole authentic personage and, yes, his literal "character." (And I'm stingy with praise!) As he was seemingly always humbly hustling out the door, on occasion, I would quickly throw out whatever compliment was fitting that day and he would invariably, genuinely, Aw Shucks my admiration to the side as we conversed, give a potato-fingered friendly little wave and quietly slip through the door.
Please know, I always found myself wanting to hang out with Ed, to get to (kind of) KNOW him. And in some way, to kind of encourage him. So..I'm doing that today.
Keep going, Ed. Youse? Are still a marvel.
Bravo.
With Appreciation and Deepest Sympathy,
Nathan Dana Aldrich

Ed and I were fellow members of ITA for several years. I enjoyed talking with him, especially after we found our that we had both grown up in East Orange, NJ. He was a truly wonderful person and an excellent, very talented actor. He will be missed. I know how much all of you must be grieving.

I was sadden by the news of the loss of Ed. I served in Germany with him and here is our trip to Berlin. We was a good guy and buddy and always talked about his family, The Boss and the Giants. We were looking at a reunion post Covid but sadly that is not meant to be. RIP

The last time Elise, Elixandra, and I saw Ed we went down to Long Beach to see him off with his family, as he was heading the next day to Boston to begin his cancer treatment. We all hugged goodbye and the door was closed behind us. Then, as we were getting on the elevator, I heard Ed's inimitable voice yelling "Wait! Wait! Hold on a second you guys!" (in that beautiful Jersey accent he/we cherished so much). We looked down the hallway to see Ed hobbling towards us as fast as he could in his present state of decline. He boarded the elevator with us, looked down at little Elixandra (6 months old) in her carrier and said: "I just wanted to say one more thing... Elixandra, I hope you have a great life, okay?"
I will never forget that second goodbye, and the passion with which it was conveyed, because that's who Ed was: caring, highly emotional, and always concerned about the welfare of everyone else before himself.
Our love to Ed’s beloved family during these sad days,
Alex, Elise, and Elixandra

I met Ed in an acting class in Hollywood. Ed was always eager to help with any project and offer me OSHA advice. It was only a few months ago I was asking his help on our Seal Beach Red Car Museum, as part of the Lion's Club. I am very sad to hear of Ed's passing. RIP Ed, you are a good friend and kind soul.

who we are:
Tuttle Funeral home was designed as a funeral home by funeral home architects and designers. Unllike many funeral homes that were originally old homes and then were converted into funeral homes.
Though it was designed as a funeral home, it still provides the warm comforting feeling of a home, but with more space and an open feeling.
