Mr. Waldek was indeed a gifted educator. Never knew a teacher like him before or since. It was 1970 & he would play Cracklin' Rosie every day. Of course I remember when he brought in Limburger cheese so we could all experience the pungent aroma, but I also remember how he (quietly) advocated for me when I cluelessly landed in hot water & how he said, "I believe in you" without uttering a word. I regret not expressing my gratitude when I had the chance to. I too became a math teacher (now retired) through his example. Feel sure Mr Waldek is hitchin' on that twilight train & singin a happy tune today ;)

To the entire Waldek family I send my deepest condolences. St Paul was the best! He was always kind, FUNNY, and generous! He never taught me but I know he had to be a very good teacher and colleague. I know this because if you ever walked around Morristown with him about 10-15 people would come up to him and say hi and genuinely be happy to see him. Stop at a coffee shop and he would be like I taught him and now I'm teaching his son. I'll miss our Superbowl lotto bet and seeing you at ShopRite always asking me if we have any of the exact thing I was working on and me telling you it's in aisle#100 and the looks people would give! Thanks for being you St Paul!
Love Joe and Kim

It was a sad day when I heard about Paul's trouble and then his passing. "Saint" Paul was such a great man even if he tried to convince me that folks named a beer after him. I always appreciated his trust that I never corrupted Karl. He told me Karl did it all by himself (haha). I was blessed to call him a friend to know his family. I was honored to be part of his retirement celebration and a bunch of other lunches. My prayers and sympathy to Mary Ann and the kids. Because of classes and commitment, I can't be present at the services, my spirit will join you. May Paul be escorted by the angels to meet the other St. Paul. May he embraced in God's love in the eternal Pi that lives forever.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr Waldek's passing. He was a great teacher who inspired all of us. I was fortunate enough to also enjoy interacting with him as an adult. He was a strong union advocate who will be missed.
My condolences to your family.

Mr. Waldek was a gem and an example of someone who dedicated his life to teaching. He made me fall in love with math and want to be a teacher just like him. I continued on that path and finally became a math teacher and kept him in the back of my mind with my students. Sending my love and prayers. I hope his legacy carries on!

Mr Waldeck was my favorite teachers . He was my 7th grade homeroom and math teacher in 1978. He would put kids in their place when they were acting in appropriate/bullying other students. He taught kids to be strong and kind. Mr. Waldek also taught my older brother and two sisters. He was also my weekend front desk manager at Tomac Motor Lodge. I worked with him for 2 years . He always had a joke to tell and made you laugh.

Mr. Waldek was one of the best. He was such a great teacher who was a kind friend to kids like me who were not members of the popular group and who needed that little bit of kindness. I will keep him and his family in prayer.

Dear Mary Ann and family
I was privileged to teach with Paul for over 20 years at the Borough School. He was a loyal friend who always greeted me with a smile.
He was very proud of his beloved Mary Ann and their children. May God give you strength and peace during this difficult time.
With sincere sympathy, Aggie Emmer
