Sad to read this, Jimmy added to our JTPD with his unique personality, his calmness on calls and dealing with citizens, plus his sense of humor. Hank often said how much he enjoyed working with him..prayers to his family.

The stories Hank could tell..I loved calling for Jim and Hank answering the phone! We loved Hank! Jim had that "Brooklyn" sense of humor.. Thank you, Deb, for your kind words! We miss him.

My condolences to the entire Kupfer family. I worked with Jim and he was a great police officer as well as a friend. I always respected Jim for his knowledge and for never being afraid to call things for what they were. R.I.P. Jim.

I worked with Jimmy for 25 years, and must say he was unique. We had our differences, but there was no one I would rather go through a door with. He always had my back. I called him “Cup Cake”, more for his name than his attitude. He will be surely missed. Jack Palko
