I know this is late, but I just saw this. My name is Amy and I worked with Joan in Warner-Lambert for many years. Our cubicles we’re right next to each other.
I was the same age as her children back then and your mom and dad were the same age as my parents so we had a lot in common.
She was the nicest person I’ve ever met. Still to this day. Honestly.
Just so you know, she always talked about how much she loved her “Pauly” (Paul Kull). Another great person. And her children she adored. Bryan (with a Y she vehemently
also told me), Brad and Dawn and their significant others.
She loved her kids and she was truly a mentor to me. She knew how to treat people. She was so funny at work. I swear we laughed daily at the crazy things that went on in Accounts Payable. So to her loved ones, please I hope that comforts you to know how much she loved her job and how much fun we had every single day. She was hilarious without even trying. It was her gift. Like you, I lost both of my parents also since then.
Joan was also incredibly smart. She took such great pride in her work. Everything was neat and correct which is why she was promoted 3 times in her position. She also taught work ethics. Never late, always on time. Never called in sick unless she was really sick.
I think the most special thing I remember about Joan is her amazing talent to connect with people of all ages. Everyone loved her. If you wanted a quick and accurate answer we all knew to go to Joan. We even nicknamed her 411 because she honestly knew so much information. She worked very hard and never put people off with an answer. She’d stop what she was doing and get them the information they needed and that is what she taught me. Sense of urgency not I’ll get back to you in this.
I consider myself very fortunate to have worked next to her for until her retirement.
God Bless you all. I’m so sorry for your loss.
