Our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Shuler and her whole family on the passing of Bill. He was a man of great character and even until this day he's been a great example on how to live a great life with a wonderful wife and raising family he truly loves.
I remember him attending as many, if not all, of the DHS events all the Shuler kids participated in...from marching band and DHS live plays and concerts to the sporting events...he was always there.
He had a great influence on me during my teen years. He was so supportive of the cross country and track teams and I remember him encouraging all the runners no matter how the results turned out. If we won, he'd be cheering, if we didn't he'd be cheering us still...always encouraging everyone's efforts.
Each time I would be in Dover area, Bill would bring me by over to see them at the house...he and Peggy would be as friendly as ever, happy to welcome me back as if I hadn't left. We enjoyed getting caught up as it was always a lively with conversation about our families. No matter what we faced, including this tragic pandemic today, Bill would still look brightly to the future for all his family! Could be out of this challenging time, someone in the Shuler family will be the next scientist to help fight a public health issue our country may sadly face periodically.
I am very thankful to have known such a great man and may there be peace in your hearts during this challenging time,
Mark and Jean Curnow
