Coach Rygiel-
You are going to be missed. Thank you for mentoring so many of us at the Knolls. Thank you for having us "buy into the package." You told us if we did we'd be better for it...you were right! We love you so much- you will be missed. Things I remember...
1) 1986 - when they were tarring the roof in the 90 degree heat we were starting to faint during late summer practices---you said "its only going to make your stronger" (you weren't wrong)
2) Calling Donny Shivas "Spitzer"
3) In the West Essex rain storm at half time "it's only mud!!"
4) Paper bag situations
5) "Never Quit" saying you made us all put in our lockers
6) Only Drivers Ed teacher who didn't wear his seatbelt
7) Dinners at Arthurs
8) You always motivated us to do our best, always
9) Who will ever forget your "3 kinds of people" poster in your classroom
10) How to drive in the snow "1 and 2"
11) Your F word was "futz"
12) Some sayings..."get on the line" "like hell" "hubba hubba" "no, yes, no, yes" "show up, shut up, get the job done" "SON OF A BIRD DOG!"
13) "it beats playing that other sport"
14) "You're not supposed to enjoy football during the season...you enjoy it when it's over!" (it makes no sense but it really does!)
15) "Coach, if I run someone over with my car what should I do?" "tell them you were with me at the movies." :)
16) At the end of the day "I'm a motivator"
I can go on and on. Thank you for everything Coach. We'll never forget you and everything you have done for us!
