Obituary of John "Jay" L. Willer, Jr.

John “Jay” L. Willer, Jr., 71, of Rockaway Borough, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Denville. Jay was born in Paterson and has been a longtime resident of Rockaway Borough.

He worked doing International Banking and Trade Finance for various banks, before retiring from PNC Bank. Jay was a Councilman for Rockaway Borough for 30 years and prior to that he spent 6 years with the Board of Health. He was a past Treasurer of the Rockaway Rowdies Soccer Club and a former Fire Commissioner for the Rockaway Borough Fire Department. Jay enjoyed cruising, vacations to the Jersey Shore and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Diane; two sons David and his wife Rebecca of Rockaway Twp. And Bryan and his wife Kim of Rockaway Borough; three grandchildren Caitlin, Sam and Mira; father John Willer, Sr.; brother Douglas and his wife Linda and many other loving family members.

Memorial Visitation Sunday, January 13, 2019, 1:00-3:00PM with a memorial service at 3:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Rockaway Borough Fire Department, 1 East Main Street, Rockaway, NJ 07866.
