Junior was the finest gentleman ever to lace up his spikes for the Parsippany Tomahawks. His laugh and smile would brighten any room that he entered; his compassion for everyone was legendary. It has been a very long time since we last saw each other but Junior is often in my thoughts when memories of our younger days rush forth, and whenever the crack of a well struck baseball fills the air. My condolences to Wendy, his children, and everyone fortunate enough to have have known and loved him.
Patti and I will miss him greatly.

My deepest condolences to the Carmona family. Jr was a friend of mine, playing baseball against him in HS (Parsippany High class of 74) and then with him at Trenton State. Over the years we also crossed paths on the softball field. A true gentleman and the only man of my stature that could throw a baseball 90 mile/hr. Haven"t seen him for a while but always in a conversation when bb came up. Will be missed.
Regards
Bill Reilly

Junior touched thousands of us, more likely tens of thousands. His words of encouragement, his smiles and handshakes after a game, his apologies for the rocket line drives he hit past our heads, always with a kind and gentle spirit, while we all knew he was a tower of strength! He made you want to be like him and part of his "team," wherever he was. His personal email to me, though on the other team, the same day coming home from the hospital, says it all:
"Dear Dennis. This is Jr. I will keep you in my prayers and I hope you heal very fast so that you can come out and play again.
God Bless, Jr."

Being around Junior meant mainly 2 things to me: 1) somehow you were learning something new about the game of baseball, even late in our age, or 2) you were laughing hysterically because of one of his jokes. Junior, you will be missed, my friend. Que en paz descanses, hermano.

Junior was one of my favorite guys on the team. He always was ready to play and prepared to win. If we needed someone to close the game out he was THE MAN!
He had a gentile personality but on the field he was a force to recon with. I'll miss him and I will always wonder when there are two outs in the bottom of the ninth with the game on the line, "Where's Junior"?
Rest in peace my friend, my teammate, my buddy

I met Junior in 1999 when we both played baseball for the Livingston Dodgers. Junior was a great all-around athlete on the diamond, but at that time when he pitched it was 'LIGHTS OUT'. We played together regularly after that in Livingston and down in Fort Meyers. I have a lot of fond memories about Junior but what I remember most is our drives around Ft Meyers where we had a lot of laughs about life as he and I philosophized about stuff.
He was great teammate as well as a coach on the field, always offering his good advice in a nice, quiet way.

I was so sorry to hear about Junior's passing and wanted to pass on my condolences to his family. He was an amazingly talented baseball player who I played with and against for many years. He could do it all on the field. Like Juan Marichal, he had all the pitches and could read hitters' weaknesses. He was also the greatest fielding pitcher I have ever seen, bar none--like a cat coming off the mound. And he was a great contact hitter, bunter and baserunner who was a constant thorn in the side of the other team. He always did what it took to win games and was a great teammate.
He was also a great and giving coach and had an effect on all 3 of my kids' sports lives. He helped both of my sons with baseball instruction and coached against my daughter in volleyball.
Junior cared so much about his friends and teammates. He always had a smile, a great story, and a blender full of protein shake for his weary teammates.
We will all miss you and rest in peace.

Just wanted to pass along my condolences to the Carmona family since I cannot attend the visitation. I had played on a few teams with Junior and against him for several years. He was one of a kind to be able to play as long as he did and he will be missed by all who had the chance to play with him. RIP.

Jr, you left us so sudden, before we had a chance to say GOOD-Bye!
Why did you have to go? You should have let us know, that you were
leaving, but you had no choice! We never know when or where our time
is up! It's always a suprise! So, the friendship we shared is broken, but
not forgotten. .Broken hearted!!!

I was fortunate to be an assistant coach at County College in Junior ‘s second year. Later we played together for the Dover Pirates which led us to Puerto Rico in the fall of 1976. He was a natural. Whenever we bumped into each other we spoke of those games. We met for a “soda” at Ironia Pizza Pub a few months ago. He was there with his father. I was truly shocked by the news. RIP
