Obituary of E.P. Pete Bensley

E.P. “Pete” Bensley passed away on Feb. 12, 2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in the arms of his loving family. He was 79 yrs of age. Born in Morristown on March 28, 1930 to Elden and Lucie Bensley, longtime residents of Woodland Ave. Morris Township, N.J. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Yvette. He is survived by his loving wife Doris Ann and four beautiful daughters, Paula Super, Linda Fama, Mary Catizone and Ruth Ann Bensley and a brother, Jacques Bensley Pete was a carpenter by trade and with many years of experience in construction, started his own carpentry business in 1974. Shortly thereafter, he hired his two son-in-laws, Gregg Fama and Walter Super and was their tutor and mentor in work and in life. Pete worked in construction all around the Morris and Essex County areas, until his retirement in 1993.He was a master at his craft. Pete served overseas in the Korean War and it was while he was in the service that he met and fell in love with beautiful Doris Ann Lynch who would become his wife. In the 1960s Pete was active in the VFW and was proud to have served as Post Commander, County Commander and District Commander. He was also active in the Morristown Elks Lodge. Pete is also survived by six grandchildren, Tammy, John, Jesse, Shawn, Joey and Allison. He also has six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pete will be remembered for his willingness to be there for any and all who needed a hand. He was always ready to do what needed to be done, no matter how tough. A generous man, tough as nails, he will be sorely missed. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16th 2010, 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17th 2010. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to: The Diabetes Association, PO Box 1131, Fairfay VA 22038-1131
