Obituary of Betty Jean Peer

Betty Jean Peer, 92, of Whiting, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, at her home. She was born in Dover and has resided in Whiting since 1986. Betty worked as an Executive Secretary for AT&T, NY, and retired in 1982 after more than 30 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Dover, the Emblem Club, Dover and the Order of the Eastern Star Pearl Chapter, Dover. She was a philanthropist, donating to various charities including the Salvation Army, the Seeing Eye and St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She is survived by her niece Diane (nee Bex) Watson of Forked River; two nephews Frederick James Bex of Newtown Square, PA and Richard Timothy Bex and his wife Cynthia of Bluffton, SC; nine great-nieces and nephews and her longtime caretaker Authorine Campbell. Visitation Saturday, February 25, 2017, 10:00-10:30AM with a service at 10:30AM, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (tuttlefh.com). Interment to follow at Millbrook Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
