Obituary of Rosina Ann Proia

Rosina (Pisapia) Proia passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013, (82 years old) at home with her husband of 60 years, Vito A. Proia, at her side. Long time residents of Succasunna, Roseann and Vito moved from Mendham in 1958 with their four children After attending Madison schools, Roseann graduated in 1953 from St. Elizabeth's College with a Bachelor's degree. She worked in the medical field before deciding to be a teacher. She later attained her Master's Degree from Marywood College, Scranton, PA. Roseann taught biology and science at Hopatcong High School for 27 years and served as a class advisor and other after school activity advisor for many years. She was very proud so many of her students were inspired to pursue careers in the medical field. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband she leaves behind her children: Jeanne Law and Robert; Elizabeth Corsetto and Joseph; James Proia and Paul Ruck; and Robert Proia and Dawn; six grandchildren: Rebecca and Nathaniel Stone; Laura and Josh Young; Michael and Robbin Proia; Patrick Law, Christina Proia and Joann Corsetto and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Stone. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Dolores Hollender and a niece and five nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 9, 2013, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and also Sunday, November 10, 2013, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will be at the funeral home on Monday, November 11, 2013, 10:00 a.m.. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
