Clarice R. “Polly” Bobin – Morris Plains
Clarice R. “Polly” Bobin passed away peacefully on December 31, 2016, at Morris View Healthcare Center. She was 95. She was born in 1921 in Blairstown, NJ to Elsa and Raymond Bertholf, and graduated from Blairstown High School, where she played on the girls’ basketball team. During World War II, she served as a Navy Wave in Washington, D.C., working in Naval Intelligence. She then attended Northeastern Secretarial College in Newark under the G.I. Bill. Mrs. Bobin worked at The Mennen Company for more than 15 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Smith, and two brothers, Harold Bertholf and Kenneth Bertholf, and her son-in-law, John Hajdinyak.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Hajdinyak, of Randolph, several nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend, Anne Lies, of Rochester Hills, MI.
Visitation to be held at Tuttle Funeral Home (www.Tuttlefh.com) on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home.
I wish to express my sincerest thanks to the 2A staff at Morris View, and especially to her angel CNA, Jackie Guillaume, who gave her the utmost care for 11 years. And many thanks as well to the kind folks at Vitas Hospice, who provided another level of wonderful compassion and care for 2-1/2 years. I cannot thank you enough.
Interment will be private.
