Obituary of Edith “Edie” C. Stone

Edith “Edie” C. (Baldo) Stone, born July 14, 1923, passed away December 19, 2016 at the age of 93 in senior living in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Edie grew up in Cedar Lake, Denville, and lived for nearly 70 years in Rockaway Borough. She was a Boonton High School graduate, Class of 1940.
She married George “Gus” Augustus Stone, who predeceased her, in Wisconsin in 1944 during Gus’s leave from active WWII service in Germany. She leaves behind her son George, Jr. (wife Carolyn Brady), her beloved grandson Brian, her sister Betty Ruiz and her very loved nieces, nephews and their spouses.
Edie worked at Reaction Motors (1952-1960) and at Hewlett Packard (1964-1975) and thereafter at several part time jobs to keep busy. Edie was a member of the Denville Golden Age Club since 1991 and served as secretary for over 10 years.
Edie was a very independent woman who always was willing to help family and friends. She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
Visitation Tuesday, December 27, 2016, 3:00-7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Wednesday, December 28, 2016, 10AM, also at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
