Obituary of Harry A. Hansen

Harry A. Hansen, Jr., 82, of Whippany, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his residence. Harry was born in San Pedro, CA, was a resident of Randolph in 1958 and became a resident of Whippany in 1994. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and worked as a Refrigeration Mechanic at Warner Lambert Morris Plains, retiring in 1994 after 37 years. Harry was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America for 68 years, having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. He served as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Assistant District Commissioner and Merit Badge Counselor. He was a member of the Randolph Kiwanis Club for the past 30 years, an avid reader and Western movie enthusiast, and he enjoyed baking and offering his handyman skills to those who needed them. He is survived by his two sons, Harry A., III of Ledgewood and Robert A. of Whippany; and his sister Shirley I. Ford of Oak Ridge and by a large extended family and many friends. Harry was predeceased by his wife Agnes in 2014 and his sister Barbara J. Brady in 2001. Visitation is Sunday, December 11, 2016 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph. (www.tuttlefh.com) with a Service to follow at 4:00 PM. Interment is private.
