Obituary of David William Biddiscombe

David William Biddiscombe, 67, of Randolph, passed away during a sailboat accident on Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Island on November 10, 2016. David was born in Dover, his parents, Richard Biddiscombe and Ann Ruschak both deceased were longtime residents of Dover, known for their establishment Travellers Diner, Dover.
David, had fond nicknames” Reverend or Rev” by his many friends. Dave was a licensed electrician and foreman for 45 years with Electric union IBEW #102 Parsippany before retiring.
As a young boy, Dave belonged to the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club sailing and regattas, where he developed his love for sailing. Dave is a certified sailor and is a member of the American sailing association and began his captain’s license. In 2010 Dave purchased his new sailboat and sailed with his wife for the last 6 years in the Caribbean Islands, Greater, Lesser Antilles, Windward Islands, Leeward Islands and the West Indies. Occasionally with family.
Dave is a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 102, 200 club N.J. Fraternal Order of Police, SAL member of American Legion Post 27, and National Rifle Association.
David is survived by his wife Renita Holtz Biddiscombe and enjoyed 20 years of travelling and sailing.
David is also survived by his three sons, David Thomas of Monroe Twp. Richard Michael of Flanders and Shaun Paul of NC and Renita’s Son Ryan and wife Julie Holtz. David is also survived by brother Richard of Dover, Sister Mary Anne of Palm Beach FL; grandchildren Shauna, Dylan, Lucas, Kacy and Braylin. Aunt Barbara Yeager of Lewes DE, and many cousins’ nieces’ nephews, his dog Angel. He is predeceased by his brother Thomas Jerry of IN.
Both services will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Highway 10, Randolph, (tuttlefh.com).
Viewing will be held Sunday, Dec. 4th from 1pm to 6pm and Short Funeral service on Monday Dec. 5th 10 am. Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Virgin Island Search and Rescue, www.visar.org/donate.
