Joseph Campoli, 85 of Flanders, passed away, following a long illness, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Holly Manor Nursing Home, Mendham. He was born and raised in Dover, resided in Mine Hill and has been a resident of Flanders since 1968. Joseph served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked as an Engineer Draftsman for Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway, Twp. and retired in 1994 after 40 years.
He was a member of the American Legion #245, William H. Flatt, Jr. Post, of Lake Hopatcong, the Sparta Rod and Gun Club, the Oldwick Rod and Gun Club and the Picatinny Arsenal Rod and Gun Club and was a life member of the NRA. He was a past officer and member of the Mt. Olive Band Boosters Association. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening. But, mainly he loved spending time with his family, especially supporting his grandchildren’s activities: sports, music, and theater.
Joseph is survived by Lois, his wife of 59 years; two daughters Lisa Silkowski of Flanders and Susan Gibson and her husband John of Frederick, MD; six grandchildren Meghan, Erin, Thomas, Kevin, Kaitin and Emily; two sisters Frances Fornini and her husband Thomas of Parsippany and Joanne Prandato of Port St. Lucie, FL.
Memorial Visitation Tuesday, November 29, 2016 3:00-5:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (tuttlefh.com). Memorial Service Wednesday, November 30, 2016, TIME, at the United Presbyterian Church of Flanders, 58 Drakesdale Road, Flanders, 973-584-8195. Interment is private.
