Obituary of Elsie A. Miller

Elsie A. Miller, 96, of Dover, passed away Friday, October 25th, 2013 at Sunrise Assisted Living, Randolph. Elsie was born in Bloomsburg, PA, and resided in Dover for most of her life, spending her winters in Pompano Beach, FL after her retirement. She graduated from Dover High School and worked as a secretary for the NJ Department of Health, Succasunna. Elsie was a member of the Drakestown Methodist Church, Hackettstown, member of the order of Eastern Star, Pearl Chapter, Dover. Survived by seven nieces and nephews, Shirley A. Kearney of Hackettstown, Walter P. Ahlers, Jr, also of Hackettstown, Patricia A. Baer of PA, Mauren Benz of Byram, Karen A. McDougal of Lafayette, Keith Ahlers of Rockaway, Billy Ahlers of FL, along with twelve great nieces and nephews. Also survived by her dear friends and neighbors Donna and Jeff McEnteer. Predeceased by her husband J. Luther in 1998, and her brothers and sisters Anna A. Maher, George Ahlers, Walter P. Ahlers, Sr., Betty A. Stoll, William P. Ahlers. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29th, 2013, 3-7 PM, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Rt. 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013 at 10 AM, also at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to Drakestown United Methodist Church, 6 Church Rd, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. ATTN: Elsie Miller Memorial Fund.
