Obituary of Domenic Parisi

Domenic “Mike” Parisi, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the NJ Firemen’s Home, Boonton. He was 91. He was born in Rockaway and lived there his entire life. He was in the European Theater during World War II serving under Patton in the 3rd Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Until recently, he lived in the house he built for his family in 1946.
He worked for Hercules Powder Co., Kenvil, retiring in 1982. Mike was a life member of the Rockaway Borough Fire Department and served as Chief in 1968.
Until recently he enjoyed golf, cooking, gardening and mowing his own lawn, as well as, making trips to Florida, Atlantic City and the horse races.
He is predeceased by his wife Betty in 1982 and his granddaughter Jennifer in 1985. He is survived by four daughters Kathy (Jon) Crate, JoAnn (Al) DiCianni, Susan (Robert) Howland and Patricia (William) Willadsen, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his longtime companion Evelyn Barone.
