Arthur John Regan, Jr. passed away on September 25, 2016 after a long illness, with sisters Kathleen and Diana nearby. Arthur was a resident of the Lincoln Park Care center for the past four years where he was a well-loved member of their community; he has also lived in Morristown and Lambertville, NJ. Arthur graduated from Elizabeth Prep High School, then served in the Navy during the Vietnam War on the United States Navy Destroyer, USS Charles R Ware. During his service he sailed around the world, crossed the International Dateline and the equator. When he was well, Arthur enjoyed oil painting, fishing, camping and simply being in nature. Fall was his favorite season and he took any opportunity to spend time outdoors. His fondest memory of his youth was driving his "souped up" Dodge Challenger. Arthur met the many challenges of his life with strength, humor and a fierce independence. He was admired for his big heart and willingness to generously share whatever he had with those who also struggled. Arthur is survived by his sisters Kathleen Regan Figley and her husband Charles, Tallahassee, FL; and Diana L Ramsey and her husband Philip M. Gartlan, Califon, NJ; his niece, Alyson Ramsey Johnson, Califon, NJ, and her three children, Tucker, Cooper, and Finley; step-nieces, Elizabeth, and husband Danilo, Vukovich Gartlan, and their children Mia Isabel, Luka and Liam; Jessica, and husband Michael, Chynoweth, Placitas, NM, their children Maya and Zen; and Laura, and husband Brian, Lundblom , Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and their children Lily and Laila. Arthur was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Nordin Regan, father Arthur J Regan, and his niece, Megan Louise Ramsey. A private burial will be held on Friday, September 30 at Mountain View (Cokesbury) Cemetery, Lebanon, NJ. Arrangements by Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (tuttlefh.com).
