Louis A. Caccioppoli, Sr., 86, of Randolph, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at his home. He was born in New York, NY and recently moved to Randolph to be near his children, formerly of Berkley Township for 25 years.
Louis served in the U.S. Army with the 5th Regimental Combat Team, Co. L 2nd Infantry Division, in the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
Louis worked as a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Chelsea Station, NY and retired in 1985 after 36 years.
He was a parishioner and Usher at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church for many years. He was an avid bowler, he also like dancing, traveling to the Tropicana in Atlantic City and his Army Regimental Conventions.
Louis is survived by his son Louis, Jr. and his wife Sylvia; four daughters Diane Wastella and her husband Michael, Jeanmarie Cavitolo, Carol Carucci and her husband Rickey and Elaine DeVivo and her husband Sal; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister Pearl Cronin and her husband John and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by Constance, his wife of 25 years, son-in-law Joseph Cavitolo, his brother Michael, his sister Rose and his niece Paula.
Visitation Sunday, September 25, 2016, 1:00-5:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass Monday, September 26, 2016, 11:30AM at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, Toms River. Entombment to follow at Christ the King Mausoleum, Toms River.
