Obituary of Roy Stanley Boyd

Roy Stanley Boyd, 73, of Belmar, passed away, after a long illness on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune City. Roy was born in Wilmington, VT and has been a resident of Belmar for the last year and a half, formerly of Hackettstown and prior to that Dover. He worked as a Metal Worker for 20 years at American Weldery, Dover. Roy served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of the Webwhispers Laryngectomee Club, the Somerset County Miracle Voice Club, where he had been president for six years and organized several educational conferences. He loved fishing, antiques, restoring furniture, yard sales and flea markets. Roy is survived by Patricia, his wife of 40 years; two children Michael J. Sarageno of Johnsonburg, PA and Mary Prior of Belmar; four grandchildren Amanda, Heather, Ashley and Michael A.; four great grandchildren Adriana, Mieka, Jayden and Jocelyn and his two sisters Virginia Francis of Smithfield VA and Peggy Carey of Mt. Snowi, VT. Visitation Sunday, September 11, 2016, 1:00-5:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Monday, September 12, 2016, 10:00AM, also at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
