Obituary of Betty Jane Tygar

Betty Jane Tygar, 83, of Rockaway, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover. She was born in Dover and lived most of her life in Mine Hill before moving to Fox Hills, Rockaway in 2001. Betty Jane worked at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway, Roxbury Dental Group, Roxbury and the Mine Hill Water Department, Mine Hill as a Bookkeeper/ Office Manager. Her friends called her BJ. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and going to the casino with Vic. She also loved to dance. Betty Jane was a member of the Mine Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for 62 years; the Mine Hill American Legion Auxiliary Post #391 and The Mine Hill Presbyterian Church where she was also a member of the Presbyterian Woman’s Group. She is survived by her longtime dear companion Vic Zahn; daughter Debbie Hooper and her husband Randy of Dover; son Scott and his wife Geralyn of Roxbury; grandchildren Darrell and his wife Cortney, Kevin, Christopher and Dana; and great-grandchildren Maggie, Katie and AJ. She is predeceased by her husband Allan John Tygar who died in 1991; parents George and Viola Williams; brother Bill Williams and baby grandson Jason Hooper. Memorial Visitation Friday, August 26, 2016 12:00-1:00PM, with a Memorial Service beginning at 1:00PM, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Inurnment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Mine Hill Presbyterian Church, 213 Route 46, Mine Hill, NJ 07803.
