Obituary of Joyce L Betz

Joyce L. Betz, 90, of Randolph, passed away, Monday, July 25, 2016. She was the daughter of Mida and George Smith and was raised on Hendershot Farm in Andover Township, later residing in West Caldwell. Joyce was the beloved mother of her two sons, Gary who predeceased her, and Ken. She will be missed by her daughters-in-law Cathy and Paula, four grandchildren Justin, Jason, Nicole and Caitlin, her sister Alice Vealey, and many other loving family members. She was predeceased by her brother, Larry Smith. In the 1940's, she worked at Curtiss-Wright, Fairfield, as a Quality Control Technician testing airplane propellers, where she met her husband Charles, who predeceased her in 1983. She also was an artist at Post Photo and Engraving Co. and later worked at Nouveau Art Glass, Verona, painting glassware. Joyce also expressed her creativity through oil painting and was an animal lover, especially her cats. She was also a Sunday school teacher in West Caldwell in the 1960's. Arrangements are through Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, and a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research would be appreciated.
