Obituary of Katerina D. Rotsides

The funeral will take place on Wednesday, December 23, at St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church in Randolph at 11:00am. KATERINA D. ROTSIDES AGE: 86 MORRISTOWN Katerina D. Rotsides, 86, of Morristown, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009. She was born on March 5, 1923 in Mia Milia, Cyprus, where she lived with her six brothers and sisters and eventually her husband and nine children. Her husband, Demetrios, passed away in 1974. Shortly thereafter she and her children became refugees of the 1974 Turkish Invasion. She emigrated with her children to the United States in 1976, where she resided in Morristown, NJ for the rest of her life, raising her children and watching them grow, become successful, and begin to raise families of their own. A loving mother, selfless grandmother, and devout Christian, she dedicated her life to her family and the Greek Orthodox Church and instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of family and faith. Although she suffered many hardships, she remained optimistic and inspirational -- a woman who saw the good in everyone. She is predeceased by her husband and grandson, Demetrios (Jimmy), and is survived by her children, Stelios, Zacharias, Nicos, Andreas, and Petros Rotsides, Eleni Karamanou, Maria Constantinou, Panayiota Louca, and Irene Petrou, her siblings Andreas and Antonis Boyadjis and Chrystalla Aravi, and her 30 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly. A celebration of her life will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 West, Randolph, from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, December 22.
