Obituary of Edward C. Mollahan

Rockaway Twp. – Edward C. Mollahan, 89, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 21st, 2016. He was born on February 9, 1927 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Peter and Elizabeth Murray Mollahan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in Italy. He graduated from GAR High School in W.B. and Mansfield Univ. in 1952. He was inducted to the Mansfield Univ. Football Hall of Fame. Mr. Mollahan taught and coached in the Dover school system for 40 years. He was an usher at St. Clements Church and belonged to ECRDA (treasure-hunting club). He was predeceased by his beloved son, Robert (2006), his parents, and brothers, James, Joseph, and Peter. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Agnes Marie (Mimi) and his sisters-in-law, Joan Broderick R.S.M. (Dallas, PA), Anne Mollahan; his daughter, Kathleen Lytle (Anthony, Hope), Edward (Monica, Green Twp.), Thomas (Micki, Boonton), and Michael (Rockaway Twp.); his grandchildren, Kristen Lytle Overstrom (Dave), Anthony Lytle Jr., and Katie Lytle; Deirdre Turner (Max) and Sean Mollahan; Madeline, Meghan, Caitlin, and Kelly Mollahan; four great-grandchildren, David and Jonathan Overstrom and Tessa and Emerson Turner; one nephew, Joseph Mollahan, and three nieces, Molly Seidel, Maureen Gallop, Margaret Ness, and many great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Cancer Foundation in memory of his late son, Bob, P.O. Box 803338 #38269, Chicago, IL 60680-3338. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 at Tuttle Funeral Home from 3:00-5:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clements Church on Thursday, May 26th, 2016 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Andover.
