Obituary of Joseph Patrick McCusker

Joseph Patrick McCusker, 76, of Dover, passed away Friday, September 20th, 2013, following a short illness, at Atlantic Rehab Institute, Morristown. Joseph was born in Carbondale, PA, and lived in Pittston, PA before residing in Dover, for the last 52 years. He worked as a senior maintenance mechanic for Warner-Lambert, Morris Plains, retiring in 1998 after 20 years of service. Joseph served in the U.S. Naval reserve during peacetime. He was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Dover. Member of the Warner-Lambert Retirees Club, and an avid NASCAR and football fan and an antique car enthusiast. Joseph is survived by his wife Sally Jane Backo, of 52 years; three daughters Linda Chirip of Fredon Twp., Sharon Bello and her husband Raul of Andover Twp., Susan Palmer and her husband Fred of Fredon Twp. Also survived by five grandchildren Kayla, Kyle, Tyler, Carly, and Paúl; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2013, from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, (www.tuttlefh.com). A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, Dover at 10 AM (973-366-0770). Entombment to follow the mass at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover.
