Obituary of LaMarr Blecker
LaMarr Reed Blecker, 84, of Towaco, New Jersey, entered the Lord’s house on December 12, 2024. LaMarr was born on May 22, 1940, in Lebanon, Pa, to Leo Harry and Cordelia Marie (Reed) Blecker. He grew up in Richland, Pa along with his brother Williard (Charlotte). They worked at their father’s Esso station from a young age. LaMarr graduated from Eastern Lebanon High School, Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and completed his education at Purdue University with a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry.
He was employed as a Chemist and Marketing Executive at Trojan Powder, Air Products, and retiring from Givaudan in Clifton, NJ. LaMarr held several patents for his research work.
LaMarr married Edith Mae Koncle, on August 27, 1961, in Newmanstown Pa, celebrating 63 years of loving marriage. They have three children Leo Gerald (Christine), Frederick William (Cora), Erika Alexis (Stephen) and Granddaughter Hannah Christine Pabst (Reiner). LaMarr was dedicated to his family and community. He was a Little League Coach, Scout Leader, and President of the Montville Township Ambulance Squad, and the first EMT on the squad.
LaMarr was a man of strong faith. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Randolph, NJ, serving as an Elder and advisor to the congregation for many years. He published a confessional Lutheran newspaper, was a frequent contributor to Christian News and met with Lutherans across the country. Lamarr had an insatiable appetite for knowledge, was an avid reader and crossword puzzler.
LaMarr was a lifelong animal lover, who had many cats and dogs over the years. He was proud of his German Heritage and his collection of German porcelain that he acquired over a lifetime of antiquing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Willard.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 21st at 10:00 am at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Randolph, NJ. Interment will be at Heidelberg Union Church, Slatington Pa following the service.
