Obituary of Shirley M Owen

Shirley M. Owen (Olson), 80 passed away peacefully at St. Claire's hospital after a short illness on Monday, December 9, 2025.  
She was born on May 25, 1944 to June and Margret (Baylor) Olson and raised on Crystal St in Dover, NJ
She lived all her life in NJ, married Ronald A Owen, Sr on April 20, 1963 in Virginia.
They moved to Victory Gardens, NJ in 1969 where they raised 2 children, Ron Jr and Cyndi.
She and Ron were married over 46 years when Ron passed away in 2009.

Shirley was raised in the Salvation Army church with a strong faith and most recently was a member of Grace Church, Netcong/Randolph. She loved participating in senior lunches and many other events at Grace Church.
She loved doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles and was never without a puzzle book or magazine in her purse.
She was a NASCAR fan; her all-time favorite drivers being Dale Earnhardt, Senior and Junior, and recently Bubba Wallace.
She would feed the birds on her back deck, watching them for hours; especially the cardinals.
She and Ron, Sr. both loved camping and for many years had a travel-trailer in Shady Acres Campgrounds in PA.
They had taken their trip of a lifetime after retiring. Driving across the US, up the west coast and back to NJ.
After Ron passed, Shirley was 'adopted' by her neighbors in Victory Gardens and she loved them as if they were her own.

Shirley is survived by her children, Ron Jr (Patty) Owen, and Cyndi (Bob) Docker.
She leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ron, siblings, Carl Olson and Barbara Carvill, and grand-daughter, Sarah Henderson.
