Obituary of Josephine Pelle

Josephine Pelle, aged 94, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1930 in Antonimina, Italy to Maria and Bruno Tropeano. "Mom" or "Grandma" to some and "Nana" or "Aunt Josie" to others, she was a proud resident of Jersey CIty, NJ for 70 years. 

She will always be remembered for her homemade Italian cooking, spending countless hours in the kitchen making meatballs and baking "figga things" for her family who she loved above all else.  She was also a very talented seamstress, creating garments for her loved ones. When she wasn't cooking or sewing, Josephine could be found eating chocolate. A lot of chocolate! Some say it was the secret to her longevity.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Martin) Kelley and Mary (Brian) Forman; and a brother, Peter (Helen) Tropiano. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank; son, Peter; and 3 siblings.

Family, friends, and others are invited to Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, NJ (Tuttlefh.com) for a Visitation from 10am -11am on Saturday, December 14, 2024 to honor the life of Josephine followed by a 12noon Graveside Service at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
