Obituary of Roger Eugene Lacouture
Roger Eugene Lacouture, 88, of Boonton, formally Randolph, passed away on December 5, 2024 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown.
Roger was born in Woonsocket Rhode Island to John and Cora Lacouture on May 12,1936. He graduated Oblate Seminar High School in Bucksport Maine. He earned a BS in Business Administration from Bryant College in 1956. He served in the Army from 1958-1960 and later the Army reserves.
Roger worked for over 50 years for the Kresge Corporation starting in the stockroom in 1956 and soon enrolled in the management trainee program. From there he became the general manager of Kresge and Kmart stores in Braintree Mass, Cohoes NY, Worcester, Mass, Scotia NY and Randolph NJ.
Roger married Sheila Ann Laffan of Woonsocket RI on June 24, 1961. Propelled by adventure and opportunity they ventured together from their family enclaves and started a family. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past June.
Roger was ordained to the Order of Deacon in May 1997 and served with great love and pride at Resurrection Parish for over 20 years.
Roger volunteered for many organizations including Hope House, Ministry Alliance and the Randolph Economic Development Committee as well as serving on committees and filling roles at Resurrection Parish including teaching CCD.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Sheila, Son David, his wife Kathy, daughter Mary Anne her husband Richard, Rachel and her husband Steven and six grandchildren; Matthew, Katherine, William, Drew, Elizabeth and Stephanie. He is preceded in death by his son Andrew James Lacouture and brother Leo Lacouture.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 3 pm – 7 pm at Resurrection Parish, 651 Millbrook Ave, Randolph, NJ 07869. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester NJ followed by a repast at Resurrection Parish.
