Obituary of Kathleen Ann Crnarich
Kathleen (Koscho) “Kae” Crnarich, a longtime resident of Mine Hill, NJ, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Little Silver, NJ on Friday, November 1st, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on July 11th, 1937, in Nanty Glo, PA to the late John & Kathleen Koscho. In addition to her parents, Kae was preceded in death by her husband Lou and her brother Jack. She is survived by her children Mark (Rose) of King George, VA, Dan (Debbie) of Wexford, PA, Jennifer of Little Silver, NJ, and Jeanne of Little Silver, NJ, as well as her sister Maryetta Brown (Jim). She also left behind her cherished grandchildren Allison, Laura, and Megan as well as her “grand dog” Harper.
If love alone were enough, she would have lived forever.
Always a happy person, she was an inspirational role model and a constant source of positive influence on everything she was involved with.
After starting her early working-life teaching at the New York School for the Blind in Batavia, NY, she married her longtime friend and moved to New Jersey. This is when they settled in Mine Hill to start their family.
Kae was always involved in the community. One of her proudest accomplishments was establishing and running the Mine Hill Library for 34 years, leading a group of volunteer residents (the “Library Ladies”). This paved an easy way for town residents to become part of the Morris County Library System. While her children were in elementary school, she was actively involved with the Parent Teacher Association, leading an effort to bring lunch options to the school with sales of pizza and hamburgers on designated days. She was elected to the Mine Hill Town Council for the first term under the newly adopted Mayor / Town Council system and continued as an active supporter of the Mine Hill First Aid Squad and the Ferremonte Historical Society.
She returned to work in the admissions department at Dover General Hospital after her last child reached school age. Once again, she was the picture of positivity and kindness as she was the first face many patients and nervous family members saw when coming through the doors of the emergency room. She retired from Dover General Hospital after 30 years of dedicated service.
I know she will miss reading the NY POST every day …and most of all, she will miss cheering on her YANKEES. We are all picturing her running and dancing everywhere…now that she is no longer bound by the limitations of her body on earth. Rest easy…but frolic freely sweet lady.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00PM – 6:00PM on Monday, November 11th, with a Funeral Service to follow at 6:00PM located at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph.
