Obituary of Benita Acevedo
Benita Acevedo-Caban passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, on April 3, 1936, and lived in Dover, NJ, for 50 years.
She was a loving mother of seven, grandmother of 18, and great-grandmother of 15. Benita devoted her life to her family.
Her favorite pastimes included praying the Holy Rosary, cooking for her family, and listening to boleros. She also enjoyed tending to her garden.
“Wella’s house” was the place for the family to gather for holidays and other special occasions. If you wanted traditional Puerto Rican food or a delicious cup of coffee, Wella made it happen.
Benita was a woman of faith. She attended Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart Church in Dover, NJ, for many years. You could always hear her singing and humming religious hymns.
She is survived by her six children: Cosme, Raul, Andres, Ana, Maria, and Carmen. She is predeceased by her husband, Teofilo, her daughter, Luz, and her grandson, Joey.
