Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Hutchinson

Dorothy Elizabeth Hutchinson (Penhale), age 89 years old, passed away on October 25, 2024, in Florham Park, New Jersey. She was born on March 26, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey. Dorothy was married to her husband Rodger William Hutchinson, Sr., who she spent 67 loving years with.

Dorothy was the mother of three children. Her daughter Elizabeth Ann Vigilante and child John Francis; her daughter Tammy Lee Panetta, husband Donald, and their children Briana Lee (fiancé Juan Ocampo), Ryan Donald (wife Rachel), and Tanner William; and her son Rodger William Hutchinson, Jr., wife Diane, and their children Matthew and Kelsie. Dorothy was also a great grandmother of six children. She loved her family very much.

She primarily worked for Prudential Insurance Company, spanning over the Newark, Rockaway, and Mt. Arlington areas. When she was not working, Dorothy (nickname Dot) enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Rodger. Her favorite holiday was Halloween. Dorothy was a Girl Scout leader for many years, and she was on a bowling league. Dorothy was also part of a Bunco Group in Randolph where they played many games together. She also loved to paint pictures.

Our beloved mother Dorothy Elizabeth Hutchinson passed away in her sleep and will be missed dearly by her husband Rodger, daughter Tammy and her family and her son Rodger and his family. She was a wonderful wife, great mom, and a wonderful grandmother/great grandmother. Dorothy attended all family events, and she enjoyed every moment of life. She always had a smile on her face and was so much fun to have around. We love you and miss you.

A private Celebration of Life will take place for the immediate family. 

Dorothy donated to many charities that would help people and animals in need.
