Obituary of Mabel Poulos

Mabel Poulos, 98, of Dover NJ passed away on September 9, 2024 in Tampa, Florida. She was born on March 4, 1926 in Newton, NJ, to her parents Llewelyn and Sarah (McCracken) Slockbower.

She attended Trenton State Teachers College (The College of New Jersey) and upon graduation in 1947 with a BS Degree in Education, began her career at Dover High School teaching Business.  It was there that she met her future husband, Frank Poulos.  She left the teaching profession after getting married, and in addition to raising three boys was actively involved in social activities and charitable organizations with her many friends including the College Club of Dover, Contemporary Club, Reading Circle, Bridge Club, Meals on Wheels, and United Women in Faith. 

She enjoyed traveling and visited several countries with her husband and family including England, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and Egypt.  She also enjoyed a number of family vacations to Puerto Rico. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, and she lived her life with faith, compassion, generosity, and spirit. Most importantly, she was a loving wife and wonderful mother, who always put her family first. 

She was proceeded in death by her husband Frank Poulos, and her first son David.  She is survived by her sons Timothy (Patty), and Stephen, and wonderful friends and relatives.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18^th from 10:00 AM-11:30 AM with a funeral service 11:30AM  at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).

Entombment will be at Locust Hill Cemetery.
