Obituary of Kevin E. Jones
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin “Kev” Edward Jones. Kev passed away on Monday, 10 June 2024, with his loving family by his side at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York, New York. Kev’s mesmerizing smile and unforgettable laughter captured the hearts and souls of many people throughout 35 years on this earth. We will miss his unconditional love, laughter, and endless memories with family and friends.
Kevin is survived by his devoted wife, Darlene Jones of six years; and their daughter Avianna Jones; his loving mother Carolyn Jones-Vidal and her husband Luis Vidal; his sister Chante and her husband Lionel Neal; his brother Luis Vidal; mother-in-law Ruth Swift; two uncles - Fred and Anthony Leyro; three aunts - Adrienne Johnson, Deanna Rhymes, Denise Christian; as well as two grandmothers Marcia Force and Antonia Vidal. Kevin also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, who will continue to cherish his memory as well as many other loving family members. Kevin is predeceased by his father, Edward Jones.
Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends while doing various activities. Kevin absolutely loved being on the go and wanted to enjoy and relish every moment that he could. He looked forward to any adventure that he could. Kevin was always resourceful and could find a deal anywhere. He was determined to upgrade his Dodge Charger and searched until he found the perfect one. Kevin, with no fear, jumped on a plane to Georgia to purchase his newest Dodge Charger and protected that car at all costs. He would often joke that you can’t get in an accident if you’re speeding. He treasured going on vacation and would often dream about going back to Jamaica to renew his vows with his wife.
He was an avid video gamer, playing games such as Call of Duty until all hours of the morning. He started bowling at a young age and participated in a Wednesday night leage at Bowler City. After years of practice and determination, he received his first 300, PERFECT GAME, at a Bowling Alley near his home in October of 2023. He had an all-time love for basketball and played anywhere, anytime, and was a dedicated Lakers fan. He always had a positive attitude and would always help his family and friends in need. Kevin showed us all that life needs to be enjoyed to its fullest and to appreciate all the little things that life has to offer.
