I remember Aunt Bevy as kind and generous who had a beautiful smile. The Shlala family has always been generous to ours. Our short visits to the east coast were enjoyed with good memories when we were all much younger. We send our condolences to Uncle T and cousins Marianne and Mike. Her brother, Bill, is heartbroken and now all his siblings have passed. His deep faith, like Bev’s, knows he will see them in heaven above. After much reflection on Beverley's passing, the song The Dance by Garth Brooks reflects our youthful relationship. After loosing my son-in-law at a very early age, I shared with those gathered at his Celebration of life in Sparta, NJ, a verse from Ode on Intimations of Immortality: What though the radiance which was once so bright, be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind. Beverly you will be so missed by so many. My heart and condolences go out to your husband and family. We grew up together on Shelter Island and were second cousins. Thank the Lord for our several reunions of our class of '59 so we all could get together as we were all over the USA. Every time it was like no time at passed as we all caught up on our lives. Rest in peace Bev until we meet again.

Beverly will always be remembered by anyone who had the privilege to know her as a truly special person. She touched your heart with her kindness and made you feel better about the world you live in because she was a part of it. My memories of our high school years together are precious; however what I learned about Beverly after those years are even more precious. I was unaware that she was an opera fan (as am I) and she told me a wonderful story about being included in private receptions when Placido Domino was performing at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Apparently he would spot her at these events, with her friend, and exclaim "My nurses are here!" I hope the angels are singing the praises she so richly deserves. Beverly will never be forgotten.

The Shelter Island Class of 1959 has lost a cherished member with the passing of Bev. Friends from first grade on, we shared classes and activities, cheerleading, our wonderful band practices and concerts throughout the east end of Long Island, parades, and oh, so much more. She and T attended every class reunion and she lit up the surroundings with her sweet smile and her kindness. "Beeve" had a goodness that emanated from her and we were all better for being around her. How blessed we were to know her. Jane (Dickerson) Fowler

I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Bev is a beautiful lady inside and out. I was always excited when we were able to stop in for a vist on the way to the Island. She has left a wonderful legacy in her children. She will be missed by many. This is not good bye this is I will see you soon. Much love your niece Kathleen
