Obituary of Esther Joyce Hendrickson

Esther Joyce Hendrickson passed away July 30 2023 after a short illness at Morris View Nursing Facility.

Joyce, as she was known, was born December 18, 1933 in Morristown NJ to Arthur and Esther McCollum. She grew up in Morris Plains and graduated from Morristown High School. After she married her husband, Richard, or Dick, as he was known, they lived in the Fairchild section of Morris Township where they raised their family.

Joyce worked for the Morris School District, Channel Home Centers, and lastly Joyful Noise Nursery School until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains. Joyce was a member of several area Square Dance clubs in the 1970s and 80s. She liked to go to Atlantic City to the casinos and play the slots. Most of all she loved the Jersey shore and spent many happy vacations there. Joyce also loved the many cats she had throughout her life, especially Mistletoe and Ruckus.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1981 and her son, Jim, in 2019. Joyce is survived by her daughters,  Barbara and her husband, Gary Cooper and Deborah and her husband, David Hill. She is also survived by nine grandsons:  Brian (Amy) Cooper, Matthew (Samantha) Cooper, Jason (Erin) Cooper and Kevin Cooper,  Kyle (Lauren) Hendrickson and Richie (Katie) Hendrickson, Andrew (Kelly) Hill, Christopher (Heather) Hill and Daniel (Maria) Hill. Joyce also has sixteen great grandchildren, the Cooper kids, Owen, Abby, Sam, Emily, Kieran, Molly, Sofia, Riley, Emma, Jack, Eamon and Lyla and the Hill kids, Peyton, Liam, Cassidy and Twyla. She is also survived by her Daughters In Law, Vickie Walsh and Debbie Micchelli.

Visitation will be on Tuesday,  August 8, from 4 to 7:00p.m.at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 Route 10 Randolph, NJ 07869 and a service on Wednesday,  There will be a Funeral Service on August 9, at 10 AM at Tuttle Funeral Home, followed by Internment at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover, NJ.
