Alfred E. Rizza "Dinky"
1941 to 2023
Dinky, as he was known to his family and friends, passed away on June 14th 2023 in Hackettstown Medical Center after a battle with cancer.
He was born in New York City to Armando and Alice Rizza on September 20th 1941. Beloved husband, father and grandfather Dinky is survived by his wife of 60 years Dolores Rizza (Bellino) his children Joseph Rizza, Michelle Hascup (Rizza) and his grandchildren Casey and Nick Hascup. Predeceased by his brother Daniel Rizza and sister Evelyn Kashetta.
He retired from Boss-Linco after 30 years in the trucking industry. In retirement he worked as a doorman at the Parsippany Hilton and Atlantic City Casinos, security guard for Willowbrook Mall and spent the last 10 years as a crossing guard for the Hopatcong Police Department. "Mr. Al" as he was known to the students will be dearly missed by everyone he met. He was dedicated to his post and continued to work even while receiving radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
There will be a private memorial held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
