Obituary of Loretta Lynch
Loretta Irene Lynch, 84 of Randolph passed away on June 6, 2023 at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Dover.
Loretta was born in Jersey City to Peter J. and Mae R. Grady Lynch on April 2, 1939. She graduated Holy Rosary Academy in Union City. Afterwards, she joined the Sisters of Christian Charity and was a devoted Catholic. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Mundelein College of Loyola University in Chicago and a master’s degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She worked as a secondary art teacher for many years and later worked as an administrative assistant to the Provincial of the Passionist Religious Community. After she retired, Loretta volunteered at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Dover. Loretta was a Yankee fan and she loved football, the arts, keeping in touch with friends, and being an aunt and Godmother.
Loretta is survived by her cousin, Margaret Stone of Somerset, NJ. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Mark Edwards (Nancy), Maryanne Grande (Tommy), Kathleen Edwards, Susan Anderson (ChrisWalthour), John Edwards (Picky), Heather Carney (Darren) and Melissa Kane (Tom). She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mae Lynch and her sister, Maryanne Edwards and brother-in-law, William Edwards Jr. She is predeceased by her nieces and nephews: William Edwards III, James Edwards and Suzanne Edwards.
Visitation will be held on June 12th from 4-8 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Dover on June 13th at 10am. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
