Obituary of Susan D Coppola

Susan Dorothy Coppola, 85, of Denville, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Dover.

She was born in Somerville, NJ.  After several residential relocations, she and her family settled in Hibernia, NJ.

Sue graduated from Dover High School and attended County College of Morris.  She started working at Picatinny Arsenal in May of 1959 as a clerk typist.  Her work ethics helped her to climb the corporate ladder to become a program analyst and branch chief within the Office of the Comptroller, She retired after 39 years of service.  Sue enjoyed sports, especially golf.  She played softball with the Picatinny Bomberetts softball league and was one of the star pitchers.  She also coached one of the girls softball teams in Rockaway Township and bowled in several leagues in Morris county.  Sue and her mother also liked to fish and travel, taking a number of cruises and cross country road trips.

Sue is predeceased by her mother, Marie A; sisters Catherine M and Marie T. her brother Joseph M. and her nephew Scott.  She is survived by her three siblings JoAnn Van Dyke and husband, Neil,  Harry E. and his wife, Wendy, Geraldine M. and her companion, Virgil; five nieces and two nephews; 3 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew.

Visitation: Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).  Followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM also at the funeral home. Entombment at Somerset Hills Mausoleum, Basking Ridge.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Denville Fire Department, 2 Indian Road, Denville, NJ 07834
