Obituary of Evarista Catherine Sommer

Evie Sommer, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peaefully on Saturday, February 4th at the age of 98.

A lifelong rsident of Dover and Randolph, she began her career at Jantzen Manufacturing in Dover, eventually working at Picatinny arsenal for over 35 years, rising to a management position which was rare for a woman at the time.

She is predecesed by her husband of 43 years, Lewis, and eleven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son Lewis, Jr, his wife Anita, grandaughter Beverly, her wife Shari Hoffman and great grandsons Benny and Andrew.

There will be a viewing at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph on Thursday, February 9, between the house of 3-7 p.m. 

There will be a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Dover on Friday February 10, at 10:00 am.

Internment will be at Gate of Heaven after the Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Jesuits of Eastern Province for the care of Senior and Infirmed Jesuits.
