Obituary of Rita Jo Zumbro

Rita Jo Zumbro, 66, of Victory Gardens, NJ born on June 10, 1956 in Teaneck NJ, closed her eyes on February 3, 2023 and opened her eyes to eternal peace.

Rita was a friend to all and will be remembered for her adventurous personality and compassionate heart.  She was a spirited mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend who was always the life of the party.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and seeing photos of her Granddaughter and of her nieces and nephews’ children on facebook.  She loved to laugh and joke and laughter will be continuous with all who knew her and have their Rita Stories.  The family is grateful for her long time friend and aide, Lucia, who cared for her till the end. She was famous for her Thanksgiving Day dinners,  joined by friends, family, and any one who did not have a place to spend Thanksgiving. Her family stands in the eternal hope that she has now joined her Mother Edna Ruth Trubek, Father Marty Trubek, Sister Anne, Niece Deedee, Nephew Russel. And Niece Sarah and Grandma and Grandpa Watson.

Rita is survived by the loves of her life (sons) Anthony and Nick Zumbro, her granddaughter Kira, Her sisters’, Betty, Susan, brothers’ Duke, Chuck, and lots of nieces, nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews.  She was an animal lover who always fed the squirrels and treated her cats like they were her  children.  She fully embraced the love, mercy, and grace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday February 11, 2023 at the Garden Chapel, 89 Washington Ave. Victory Gardens NJ and on zoom.  Any donations would cover the cost of funeral expenses and then to help her sons with future expenses.
