Obituary of Harold Roy Schroeder

Harold Roy Schroeder 97, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at his home in Mt. Arlington.  He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Philipines Theater. Harold then worked as a planning engineer for New York Telephone Company until retirement.  

 He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and he was a devout Patriotic veteran who loved the USA.  Harold was a parishioner of St. Catherine in Siena in Cedar Grove for 30 years and a choir member for 18 years, he was also a 10-year parishioner of St. Therese in Succasunna.   He was an avid fisherman and gardener and he had multiple gardens in the community gardens in Cedar Grove and Fairlawn.  Harold loved to travel by car, and he had visited all but 4 states in the USA, and he was an expert at cross word puzzles.

 He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia of 39 years, his two children; VA Schroeder of Fontana, CA, David Kurt Schroeder and his wife Julie of PA.,  his step daughter Lori San Filippo Lee and her husband Robert E. Lee Jr of Succasunna, two grandchildren; Ted Schroeder and Kathryn Schroeder, three step grandchildren; Melissa De Lucia, Stacie De Lucia and Joshua Lee, one great grandson; Charles, and his niece Lynn Merce and he was predeceased by his 1st wife Kathryn Schroeder and his daughter Karen Schroeder.

 Memorial Mass 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at St. Therese Church, Succasunna.
