Obituary of Gregory Pabelis

Gregory Pabelis of Dover, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday October 21, 2022 surrounded by his family. 

Born on December 29, 1954 in Panagoula, Greece, Gregory was the son of the late Zoes and Artemisia Pavelis.  Gregory immigrated to the US in 1973 where he met his wife Georgia a few years later.  In 1982 they wed and had two children.  With only an elementary school education, he worked in many restaurants learning the language and how to cook.  Ultimately, he lived the “American dream” and was able to own and operate a restaurant until he retired in 2014.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Kostantinos Pavelis. He is survived by his loving wife Georgia Pavelis whom he was married to for over 40 years as well as his son Zoes Pavelis and his wife Melanie, daughter Maria Seretis and her husband George and four beautiful grandchildren, Eleni, Vasilios, Remi and Theo.

He is further survived by his older brother Paraskevas Pavelis and wife Vasiliki along with numerous brother/sister in-laws:  Vasiliki Angelopoulou, Ioanna Lignos, Demetrios (wife Vasiliki) Ramantanis, Ioannis Ramantanis, Thanasi (wife Sophia) Ramantanis and Antonios (wife Hariklia) Ramantanis.  As well as many nieces and nephews.   

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, Tuttlefh.com. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, Randolph, NJ.  Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery.
