Obituary of Anthony Rocco Bentrovato
Anthony Rocco Bentrovato of Wharton NJ passed away Monday July 4, 2022 at the age of 77 at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Anthony was born on September 3, 1944 to parents Domenica (nee Ciardi) and Antonio Bentrovato in Dover NJ. Anthony grew up in Dover, with many aunts, uncles and cousins. After graduating from Dover High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Anthony taught English and then worked in Supply Chain for many years. After retiring from Warner Lambert/Pfizer, he took various part time jobs allowing him to spend more time with his family. He worked at the Kubert School as Senior Chief Executive Head Librarian Extraordinaire—a title he bestowed upon himself. He was accompanied at this job by Gucci-his beloved pet yorkie.
Anthony enjoyed sports cars, doing woodworking projects, gardening, raising chickens and had recently begun assembling model cars and planes. He was a great cook, known for making the best lasagna (and death by chocolate) for family gatherings. He also made awesome pancakes for his kids and grandkids.
He was always ready to meet family or friends in town for a cup of coffee. And he will always be remembered for his drive across country with Cousin Bill in a 280Z to deliver the car to Portland, Oregon, smoking cigars all the way. The family could always count on Anthony and he will be greatly missed.
He was the beloved husband of Rose Bentrovato (nee Piepoli). Loving and supportive father of Olivia, Anthony and David and amazing Nonno to his grandchildren Rocco and Domenica. He leaves behind his beloved sister Connie Sossong, brother Joseph Bentrovato (Carolina), Aunts Helen Pennella and Pat Ciardi and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents Domenica and Antonio Bentrovato, brother-in-law Hank Sossong and his nephew Eric Bentrovato.
A visitation will take place on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 4:00PM-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 Highway 10, Randolph NJ (tuttlefh.com).
