Obituary of Mary Gleckler

Mary Wearn Gleckler, 95, of Randolph, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2022 with her beloved son by her side.

Mary was born at her grandmother’s home in Bowlbyville, NJ.  She attended the four room school house on Leonard St in Bowlbyville and the building still exists today as an apartment building.  When Bowlbyville merged with Dover on November 14, 1938 the students were moved to Dover Schools.  Mary graduated  from Northside School and then from Dover High School in 1944.

Mary was immediately employed by New Jersey Bell Company in Dover, where she worked as a switchboard operator for one year and was then promoted to a management position.  Mary held various management positions throughout her 42 year career there and retired in 1986.

Mary married Edward “Moose” Gleckler and moved to Randolph.  They had one son, Gary, who was very devoted to taking care of his parents.  Edward passed away in 2008.

Mary is survived by her son Gary and several cousins.
