Obituary of Virginia Peralta Neri

Virginia P. Neri, 76, of Randolph, NJ beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, surrounded by her family and her caregiver on February 24, 2022.

Virginia was born on January 06, 1946 in Calasiao, Pangasinan, Philippines.  Daughter of late Colonel Fermin and Juliana Peralta, Virginia, known to close friends and family as “Baby”, was devoted to her family and countless friends, with whom she enjoyed spending time.  She also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, reading, playing along with Jeopardy and other game shows on TV, watching movies, and watching morning and afternoon talk shows like, “Live With Regis and Kelly,” to learn about the latest celebrity gossip.  Virginia was also passionate about her Catholic faith.

Virginia received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology.  She came to the United States in the 1970s to begin a new life.  In the process, she met her husband, Felino, in 1978.   

Virginia is survived by her husband, Felino S. Neri, and two daughters, Jennifer Neri-Hodges (John Hodges) of Succasunna, NJ and Michelle McLaughlin (Kieran) of Budd Lake, NJ; grandchildren, Kieran McLaughlin  (KJ), James Hodges, and soon-to-be granddaughter Baby McLaughlin due in April 2022, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and godchildren.  She is also survived by her dedicated caregiver, Joselita Bankos, who lovingly took care of her for 6.5 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Armenio Peralta, and her sisters:  Dr. Perla Cuadra, Dr. Julia Peralta, Leticia Maningding, and Dr. Alma Bermudez.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 04, 2022 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Parish, 651 Millbrook Ave., Randolph, NJ.  Interment is at Gate of Heaven in East Hanover, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia’s name to the Alzheimer's Association. At the family's request, all visitors are requested to wear a mask when indoors and not actively eating for everyone's safety.
