Josephine (Kobilarcik) Puder, 92 of Dover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital at Dover surrounded by her family.
Josephine was born and raised in Hawk Run, PA. She was the 8th of 12 children born to Andrew and Mary (Andresko) Kobilarcsik. After graduating from high school in 1941, she moved to Dover where she met her husband Robert. They were married for 40 years until his death in 1991. She was a long time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of Dover and was employed as the priests’ cook for 20 years. She was also a member of the Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Josephine also worked as a housekeeper for Hilton Hotels until her retirement in 1992.
Josephine enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling with her family. It was important to her to maintain her Slovak traditions during the holidays. Her deep Catholic faith and love of her family kept her going strong and independent through her long, full life. She loved going to daily mass and spending time at breakfast afterwards with her friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mary, her husband, Robert, her brothers, John, Joe, Andy, Mike, Alex, Steve and Albert, and her sisters, Anna, Mary, and Frances.
Josephine will be deeply missed by her children, Richard of Dover, Thomas (and wife Kathy) of Flanders, Joyce Leary of Newtown, PA, Bonnie Gregory (and husband, William) of Morristown, Bill (and wife, Kim) of Nantucket, MA, and Brian (and wife, Karen) of Harrison City, PA, as well as her grandchildren, Chris (and wife, Kelly), David (and wife, Jessica), Sharon, Pam, Brianna, and Danny, and great grandchildren, Ryan and Grace.
